Operations Manager

Mompati Babusi is a metallurgist with 13 years of base metal concentrator plant operational and management experience. After graduating from university, Mompati joined Tati Nickel Mining Company during the plant construction phase. In 2002, he was involved in the commissioning of the 3.6 million tonne per annum concentrator plant and in 2005, he was involved in the upgrade of the Tati Nickel concentrator plant to 5 million tonnes per annum. He was Manager Ore Processing at Tati Nickel until December 2013.

Mompati holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree from the University of Queensland in Australia.


Deliah Ndooni Thite

Deliah Ndooni Thite

Safety Health Environmental and Community Manager

Deliah Ndooni Thite holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Botswana. She has worked in the mining industry for 18 years and joins Khoemacau from Debswana’s Jwaneng Mine where she was the Safety Manager. Her experience also comes from working at Botswana Ash, Gem Diamonds and BCL Limited. During her tenure with BCL she was recognised by NOSA for her implementation of the NOSA safety management systems. Deliah’s interests are in seeing the safety landscape improve through the introduction of best practice.


Vincent Mothupi

Vincent Mothupi

HR Manager

Vincent holds a PhD in Development and Management, obtained from North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa, and a Post graduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management, obtained from Botswana Accountancy College. He has obtained two Diplomas both in Human Resources Management from the Institute of People Management (South Africa), and Southern Business School in South Africa. He has worked for various organisations including mining, wholesaling, and parastatals. Vincent joined Khoemacau from National Food Technology Research Centre in Kanye, Botswana, where he was the Director of Corporate Services.

Vincent is a Chartered member of the South African Board of Personnel Practitioners (SABPP).


Neo Kwakwa

Centralised Services Manager

Neo Kwakwa holds a Diploma in Engineering from St Mary’s University, Canada, a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Nova Scotia, Canada and a master’s in science (Combustion and Energy) from Leeds University, United Kingdom. Neo has 31 years of post-graduate experience and has worked for Botswana Power Corporation, Soda Ash Botswana, as Project and Commissioning Engineer, Botswana Government as Inspector of Mines, Tati Nickel Mine in various senior management roles and most recently as Lead Engineering Consultant for Emirates Investment House.

Neo holds professional membership with the Engineering Registration Board of Botswana (ERB) and is the Chairman of the Mechanical Professional Assessment Committee of the ERB.


Kagiso Komanyana

Commercial Accountant

Kagiso Komanyana is a chartered management accountant and holds a Higher Diploma in Accountancy and Business Studies from the Botswana Public Service College (formerly BIAC). Kagiso attained his professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He has extensive experience at various levels of accounting having worked in diverse industries including mining, property development and estates management.

Kagiso is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, member of the Chartered Global Management Accountants, and Associate Certified Professional Accountant with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.


Batanani Muyoba (Bates)

Batanani Muyoba (Bates)

Exploration Manager

Batanani Muyoba has over 13 years of experience in the minerals exploration industry. He has been for Khoemacau Copper Mining for 9 years. His portfolio spans from target generation, planning, implementation and managing of both grassroots and brownfields exploration programmes, with a focus on discovery and upgrade of copper and silver mineralization deposits. Bates graduated with a BSc from the University of Botswana in 2006 and has subsequently completed two post graduate diplomas, namely in project management and general management. He is an active member of the Geological Society of South Africa (GSSA).
